Constructing these O Scale
Buildings is as Easy as 1, 2, 3!
STEP #1
Download and print out the designs on A4 (letter size) using your home printer.
The plans are supplied in both A4 (lettersize), and A3 (tabloid) size. If you
choose to print A3 (tabloid) size, you can then simply download the file to a USB
memory stick and drop it off at your local fast copy shop.
All buildings are sized 1:48 (1/4 inch = 1 foot), but if you want to make a
building look as if it's further away, it is easy to alter the printer settings to
reduce the print size e.g. 85% instead of 100%. Unlike plastic buildings, these
downloadable building designs are very flexible. You can even print multiple
copies of the same building WITHOUT paying for a second
download.
STEP #2
Cut the corflute or foam* to the size and shape of the printed design before
gluing the design onto it. You can use a glue stick, clear glue in a tube, or spray
adhesive (it's your choice). Just make sure there are no air bubbles.
STEP #3
Glue the front, sides and roof in place. Flaps are included to make this part
easy. That's it... you're finished!

These model building plans are quick and easy to download, and SUPER
STURDY when constructed with inexpensive corflute board (the stuff real
estate signs are made from). It comes in a big sheet and is available from a
hardware or discount store.
Using foam board is another option as it is also strong (and cheap to buy). Card
or plywood can also be used.

Additional Tips:
- Although not necessary, the completed buildings can be lightly sprayed with a clear matt
varnish.
- Remember you can print out a second copy. To add more dimension you could try gluing doors
and/or windows in front of, or behind, the original print. This will make them look either
closer or further away. A door or two could be cut out and left slightly ajar to add to the 3D
effect.
- Corflute is available in a range of colors. Black corflute is particularly good if you want
to open windows and light the interior.
- Low-relief buildings are perfect for O
scale model railroads because they make better use of
the space, yet still provide an incredible
dimension and perspective the scene. The 3-sided buildings create the illusion of being
life-sized buildings without the need for 4 walls.
- These O scale models are best positioned
against the background wall to give the illusion the
scenery stretches miles further into the distance than it really does.
